Inclement weather can be a winter snow storm, a wind chill advisory, a tornado warning, etc.
In the event of an inclement weather closure, we will notify you via the following:
- post on our Facebook page
- email from heartlandallstars@ruraltel.net
- Hays Post closures listing (sometimes it is not updated timely, but we do our best)
A decision about evening classes will be made by 1 pm or sooner be one of the above.
Please use your best judgment when traveling to class! You can always make up a class in a different class.
To notify us you will not be in class (in the event we are still having class in inclement weather), please visit https://haysgymnastics.com/online-parent-portal for instructions on self reporting your absence and to schedule a make up class.
We do not usually close for thunderstorms or tornado watches. In the event there is a tornado warning during class (the tornado sirens go off in Hays), we will either release students to parents (please do not remove your child from a class without speaking to a coach) or we will take shelter at Dillon’s, if time allows, or in the storage closet and bathrooms in the center of the gym building.
A canceled class can be made up in another class of the same level in the following weeks. (i.e. you come to another class that week, you come to 2 classes the following week, etc) See our Make-Up Policy
*We do not always follow the USD 489 for weather closures as roads and weather can improve by evening class times.
